Facebook has just introduced another feature – shared photo albums . Like group blogging , where various contributors are allowed to contribute to a blog , an album can be created with up to fifty contributors who can upload 200 photos each into the Facebook. Thus , a shared photo album can accommodate up to 10,000 photos of any family event like wedding , birth-day parties, Baby-shower functions , Betrothal function and so on of family members or friends.  This Facebook unique feature would be much useful for user engagement in groups of families and friends and with mega family or friends albums.

This new feature of Facebook helps the users to share larger volumes of photos of their family or friends event on Facebook.   Though , for group sharing of photos , there are already available applications like Flock and Albumatic , but comparing to Facebook , they may be pushed backward due to advanced technology owned by Facebook for larger storage volume and sharing facilities of photos.  Facebook larger photo sharing facility can be analogues to Google+s  Party Mode where Google users can exchange and share all of their videos and photos instantly and in real time with guests of an connected event.

This new feature is available only on the desktop initially and will be offered to all English users of Facebook initially and then it will be expanded to its international users in a phased manner.

One of the drawbacks of Facebook’s group photo sharing program is that under its album custom privacy preference, there would be friends of friends or public. Hence, the friend of X who has shared the photo will have the right to view the photo which X has uploaded as a contributor though he may not be direct friend of X on Facebook. This loophole has to be plugged by the Facebook technical team!
